Most colleges use a 3-credit per course scale. In many cases, students can take up to 18 credits per semester (without paying extra), but the majority of students take 15 credits per semester. To move up in class rank and graduate in four years, a student must earn at least 30 credits a year (Either Fall and Spring semesters or additional winter and/or summer sessions).
