What is the width of the river Nile?

Answer #1

it is not constant….. but avg is around 2 miles…..

Answer #2

The river Nile is 6.852 km (4132 miles) long. It has several sources and confluences, as well as some large dams and artificial lakes. It divides into a delta north of Cairo (Capital of Egypt). Thus the river (just like all rivers) does not have a constant width. Its widest flowing width is in Cairo, just before it divides to become the delta. This is about 1 km (2/3 mile). http://funadvice.com/r/blv9cjnol70

Its widest non-flowing width is in the artificial Aswan-lake south of Aswan, Egypt. http://funadvice.com/r/15cnaric3fb

It’s lowest width is on the springs of the sources, of course.
