The Jehovah Witness Beliefs

I am very frustrated by the Jehovah Witness. I have two Jehovah Witnesses come by once a week to talk about their religion, and every question I have they answer with a verse from their bible. They tell me that the only truth is the bible because it is the proof that god exists. That the bible is the truth because it was written by man through the holy spirit. Now when I asked about Charles Darwin, they said his theories are just the thoughts of man. But how do they know that the bible wasn’t just created by man. They also mentioned a passage in the bible that says people with the power of prediction are hearing the thoughts of the devil and his followers. Now who’s to say that the bible wasn’t created that way. No one will ever know the truth until we die. I was also told that when the Kingdom of God has come, people will live forever with no sickness or any evils. Every life has to end sometime, how boring would it be to live forever. And when I pointed out that the world would be over populated, they simply said that god would stop the reproduction process. They also stated that even though Catholics, Anglicans etc believe in god (just not referring him to Jehovah) they are still going to be struck down because they teach lies. I’m not against other religions. I personally believe that man was created through evolution, and the world was forged over millions of years. All I want to know is what you think of the Jehovah Witness religion. Whether it be from the Jehovah Witness (I’d like your opinions and answers on the questions I asked above) or from any other people in the world, I’d just like to know.

Answer #1

Tell them youve been shunded and they wont come back.

Answer #2

the one and only message that you need to know about God and christianity. FAITH. believing is what gets you into heaven. having faith… as is the same with many religions. most in fact. but as was said earlier, respecting every relgion, and declinging to talk to them are both good things. and if you belive in darwinism, then you have faith in that. which is a good for you.

My dear atheistic friend:

What other people feel about religion, particularly the Jehovahs Witness faith is not important, what is important is that you respect the beliefs of others, which it sounds like you do. However, you do seem annoyed by the “Witnessing” of this particular sect, therefore, politely decline to engage in conversation with them, or don’t answer the door.

ACTUALLY kattychatty, that’s wrong. If you tell the Witnesses at your door that you’ve been “disfellowshipped,” they will send out an Elder to talk to you. Therefore more Witnesses will end up at your door. If you don’t want to talk to then, tell them. They don’t take it personally at all. All that’s doing is turning down Jehovah God. The reason why they come to your door is because of the fact that they’ve been commanded to by the Bible in the book in Matthew. The bible has answers to everything. And to fau, the reason that the JW’s may have said that is because the bible says “Men who lie with men will not inherit God’s Kingdom”… and if you ask me that’s a reference to homosexuality. Anyway, I hope I was of some help.

had some Jehovah’s at my doorstep, they are nice people but I dont like the way they are telling me that I can’t accept my cousins gay lifestyle, my belief in life after death was total fiction and told me that the only book in the history of the world that explains everything was the bible since it was written by the holy spirit which is gods force. Umm.. a force can’t write, talk or do anything. The bible was written by man. I think the people are good, but the religion to me is rubbish. Sorry to any jehovah’s out there

Answer #6

I think that noone will know the truth until they die. If there is a god, he shouldn’t judge you on your religion, he should judge you on they way you lived your life.

Answer #7

Simple solution. DO NOT open the door to them. Tell them that you are an atheist and you would appreciate them if they would respect your wishes and your beliefs.

Answer #8

You can always just ask them to leave. If they keep coming by you can even put up a sign. I find door-to-door proseltyzers to be fun to mess with. Remember that they came uninvited so you have no obligation to be polite to them.

You choose to engage in a debate with people who would not change their beliefs with any amount of proof. Have you heard the saying “never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience”, well in this case, perhaps you need to heed to the general principle. You have one set of beliefs, they have another, as any argument will be struck down with “it is God’s will” (and of course we cannot possibly understand that being lowly humans), you honestly cannot win.

I love how not even the advisers are really answering the question asked, xD its what do you think about, now how can the asker can avoid the people at hes door xD

I have only heard a few jehovah’s Witnesses before, it sounds from what you say that they have no respect for others beliefs at all, I do not like any group of people that do that, religion should never be forced on other people like they try to do. If a person wants to hear about another religion they can go look into it, go to church look it up online how ever, they do not need people coming to there door every week. It would bug the heck out of me. I am Wiccan, and a practicing witch so they would most like freak at me. Like many other people have. Some of my closest friends how ever are christian or the like. So don’t get me wrong I do not dislike there beliefs, only that they try to put it on to others with out respect for the other persons.

all you over there dont know any thing about them, try to talk to them and know them better you will like them and know the truth.

well about two years ago I had a really lucky experience that I’m not worthy of. Jehovah (God) revealed him self to me. Of course not in any physical form but by his spirit in an amazing power. I cant find the words to describe the power for it was pure Ecstasy the power got so overwhelming I felt radiant like I was glowing like mosses face when God showed him his back. Soon the power got so great I could no longer stand on my feet and fell down crying and screaming on my knees. I use to go to a baptist church and still plan to go when I get my drivers license. Before God ( Jehovah) revealed him self to me I was being a prodigal son and stopped worshiping (Jehovah) God altogether. Then God (Jehovah) did this miracle in my life. So for the past year Ive been studying with a Jehovah witness. I give Jehovah witness a lot of respect for the fact they tear and read through the bible a lot. I feel the interpretation of Hell is correct. How can God (Jehovah) a God slow to anger but quick to be merciful make people suffer forever?? But through my studying I’ve seen somethings that make me question Jehovah witnesses. For example they believe they are the only organization/ believers that worship and follow God ( Jehovah) correctly! I kind of find this just a little ignorant. For I was never a Jehovah wittiness and God revealed himself to me. I just know that’s false theirs no way that can be true theirs to many great preaches who are anointed with power who are not JW. Another thing I must disagree is the Holiday customs.

For example Jehovah witnesses say Christmas is a pagan holiday. I just don’t understand how Christmas is a pagan holiday it unites and brings family together how is that harmful. Another thing that makes me consider Jehovah wittiness is the fact that they look at other documentation to establish rules and costumes. Every Jehovah witness that preaches to people teaches out of the publication called “What Does the Bible really teach?” On page 156 in the publication what does the bible really teach they teach. They talk about not celebrating Christmas. On page 157 it sates that if Jesus disciples had known the exact date of his birth they would not have celebrated it. why because the THE WORLD BOOK ENCYCLOPEDIA SAYS THE EARLY CHRISTIANS CONSIDERED THE CELEBRATION OF ANYONE’S BIRTH TO BE A PAGAN CUSTOM. So just from that statement found in this publication shows that they are making rules based off costumes off the past disciples. which is not even stated in the bible but in The World Book Encyclopedia. So i guess i get a little upset when the title of the publication is called what the bible really teaches when they make a rule up that’s not based on the bible but based on a book called The world book encyclopedia and the fact they are following customs from apostles and not the bible. I just know that God ( Jehovah) hates customs and that’s what they are carrying out are customs of old just like Pharisees, Sadducee s. The Jehovah witness that I study with told me that he does not celebrate birth-dates and I asked him why. He told me that they are pagan because the two times the bible mention birthdays people died. genesis 40:20 is the story of Joseph and how hes locked in prison and a baker and a cup bearer are thrown in prison. They both have a dream and God gives revelation to Joseph and interprets the dream. In the dream Joseph tells the cup bearer that he will return to is original position and the baker will die.

After Joseph tells the cup bearer to tell Pharaoh how he has been thrown in prison for false wittiness and tell him to release him from prison. I don’t see any correlation how a birthday is a pagan holiday. Yes a man did die I do understand this but was he a believer and faithful servant of God in the first place?? And if these two men never went to prison how would of Joseph been released from prison in the first place?? Another example is John the Baptist in Mark 6:21 when John gets his head cut off from Herod. In this story it talks about Herod being afraid to cut off John the baptist head because he knew he was a man of God. And don’t you think that Satan was behind the whole Idea to cut off his head in the first place and the little girl who got the order from her mother?? It really does not matter in long run because Jehovah turned it all around and Jesus resurrected John from the Dead. I just don’t see how celebrating life with family and friends is pagan you only live on this earth once before the resurrection. The Jehovah wittiness I study said we should celebrate someones death over someones birthday because when someone is dead we can look back on there life and see all the accomplishments that have done through life. I kind of find this a little odd in Gods Hierarchy in things ITS GOD (JEHOVAH) FAMILY THEN CHURCH. In Jehovah eyes family is placed higher then church/Kingdom Hall. I think its sad that we would ignore the birth of someone that means a lot to us in our life and not show how much they mean to us. Have you not seen Jeremiah 1: 5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Don’t you think God and the angles in Heaven were happy that a prophet was born that day who would preach to all nations or do you think it was no big deal?? I’m not sure this is my own personal intake of the scripture I’m sure that God was very happy when he was born.

I guess the thing that makes me mad between Christians is the fact that nothing has changed in 2k years. 1 Corinthians 3:1 talks about how Christ is divided Baptist and Jehovah witness. They are both christens but are divided and we are not united as one but i never see this changing but I hope I do.

Theirs other things that I don’t understand Baptist say you can speak in tongues JW says you cant. Idk there is just so much confusion and my prayer to God ( Jehovah) is to be lead to the truth that’s all I want to know the truth about God.

I know every-time I pray I feel the holy spirit on my body. Its very strong and powerful I feel every hair on my arms go up and I feel this spirit all over my body its amazing and don’t understand it fully but I know this is very rare And must spend day and night meditating in prayer and in Gods word to understand it more.

I am an ex JW. The central teaching of JWs, which they often don’t spring on you until after you join, is that the leadership of the Watchtower Corporation, who run Jehovah’s Witnesses, was directly chosen by Jesus Christ. If you ever question any of the beliefs you are subject to one of their judicial committees, a type of secret trial, and they can order the congregation and even your family members, to shun you completely. Here is the introductory video which takes you to the recording of a length actual judicial committee hearing. It is very grueling stuff done in the name of love LOL
