Is there one right religion? How do people know if their religion is the right one?
"why are there so many other different beliefs and Gods?"
v Religion and church
1) The common purpose of religion is to aid the entity in its search for Truth.
2) Each entity's level of development and understanding is different.
3) It takes many different styles of religion to accommodate the growth needs of entities at various times.
4) The value of a religion can be judged by its operation and intended accomplishments.
5) Churches exist for the benefit of entities.
6) Churches are to religion what a bathtub is to water.
7) They allow the entity an opportunity to soak in the fellowship of like-minded entities.
8) Churches also allow an entity a method through which to share.
In contrast to believing in the Bible, I believe:
That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time.
That "Force" created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being.
The spiritual/soul entities continued the "Creation" with the "Big Bang". And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs.
The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality.
When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth.
The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God.
I am a Deist! (One who believes in the existence of a God, but denies revealed religion; a freethinker.)
de·ism (de'iz'?m, da'-) n.
The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation.
in my opinion
God created/caused our spirits (entities) along with the universe to come into being. God established the purpose for it all but doesn't involve Its self in the continuance or activities of same.
"Sin" is man's concept and is utilized by men to control other men. The human caused "negative events" that take place are circumstances that are considered by us in the non-life experience between incarnations as we evaluate the successes and failures we made as we attempted to achieve our goals during our incarnations.
The Bible (and similar religious books) is a necessary concoction created by man to control man and his environment. It was necessary because mankind, in its infancy, did not have the medical and technological knowledge to conquer and understand its environment so had to be controlled by superstitions which were found to save lives and further the survivability of the various human societies.
Why did God make the world?
in my opinion, God diversified Itself into Its many parts and charged those parts (entities) to go forth and acquire knowledge and experience and to then return to the Oneness of God.
The entities caused the creation of the universe and everything therein and individually choose to inhabit the physical bodies.
The entities may incarnate/reincarnate many times before gravitating back into the Oneness of God.
Speculation: 1 Is God necessary?
There has to be a Source from which the "big bang" sprang forth Creating the universe.
Speculation: 2 What is God?
God is the ultimate Cause.
God is the Creative Entity, Energy or Force from which all is derived.
Speculation: 3 Where is God?
God is in a state of awareness that is outside the universe.
God has morphed part of Itself into those entities (spirits) that inhabit the universe and the physical bodies within.
Speculation: 4 Why is God?
God Is because God Is.
God is eternal, existing independent of time or the universe.
Speculation: 5 Is God concerned?
God is not concerned with the daily functioning of the universe or matters within it. That is our domain and subject to our whim.
Speculation: 6 What are we?
We are the spirits (entities) of God.
God morphed into Us and we continue to create according to God's purpose.
Our physical bodies are simply the means we use to experience and function in the physical dimension.
Speculation: 7 Why are we?
We are for the purpose of gaining knowledge and experience.
In the end, we gravitate back into the Oneness of God allowing for the fulfillment of God.
Speculation: 8 Evolution
Evolution is simply a tool of Creation.
The entities often influence the direction of evolution along desired paths.
From my chosen path I stray, Yet my God any'er turns away; For I have learned -- and understand, That where God is -- is where I am!
The only way to be saved from your sins...is to stop sinning, YES? What ever you have done in the past is done, being forgiven by a higher being really means nothing to the person you may have wronged in the past...being forgiven by them is what matters, as it gives you both peace of mind. Having remorse for things you may have done & to seek forgiveness from those people, should be enough for any highly intelligent God like life form to understand. ~~~
This is not what the bible says. This would be man offering his own efforts. God says that is not acceptable. It is very commendable. and awesome to seek out those that you have harmed, and make things right. But, that alone, is not enough. If you care what the bible says, if not, then, disregard my statements.
The bible says that you must be born again. That is why Jesus was sent to earth. To bring transformation. To offer salvation.
There is no remission of sins, without the shedding of blood.
In the old test, it was the blood of animals, now... it is the blood of Jesus.
All our righteousness is as filthy rags, compared to Gods righteousness.
And yes, God wants us to stop sinning... after we receive the gift of salvation.
And yes, it would be wonderful for all to go back and make things right with those they have harmed. Some do.
The ones that have been harmed, have to be willing to forgive, to be forgiven.
We have all been harmed to some degree.
for some the forgiveness requirement is something that they stumble over, because of the degree that they have been harmed.
But, we all have to come in the same way.
God set the rules.
We just live them, and share them.
I been to that chapter and verse in the bible...I was raised baptist...and it all seems like bs to me...at this very moment in time...I am a religion that no one has ever heard of and I chose not to tell people about(not a cult)
why are people so faast to push a religion on other people that are not the same religion? how do you know for sure that the catholic religion is the right one? how can anyone prove what religion is the right one? unless they die and come back? even then, would people believe that person?
Your right...I don't care what any MAN MADE BOOK says...so I will disregard your statements. I have already been born once, and it isn't possible to be 'born again'.
Brain washed, conned & scared into having faith for something maybe...
There have been many so called gods over the centuries that have also claimed to have walked on water, had 12 disciples, preformed miracles, etc, etc. But none of them have wasted billions of dollars campaining themselves like Christianity does...it disgusts me.

When people want to find a religion that fits there search in truth all they need to do is attend church and see if they really like it. As for the truth, people can choose for themselves by making right choices. Everyone is different when it comes to in search of truth. Depending on which religion they choose people will find out if they're sattisfied or not.
If you ever come in contact with the true and living God, you will need look no further. He is the God of the Holy Bible. If you are sincere in your desire, and you seek, you will find him. And He is very worth the effort.
If I can be of any help just contact me.
How do you determine? Look at the evidence and the claims.
Personally, I believe that if you look at the evidence for the Bible, the claims that it makes about the human condition, and the need for someone to save us from our sins, I believe that you'll find that it explains a lot.
yeah but why do people feel the need to push their religion on someone? and why do people talk about religion during school and say while that religion is false, which is offensive to some people? I though religion talk wasn't allowed in school?
You must decide for yourself - having said that I definitely believe in the Bible - if you get one, find the book of John and read the Good News in John, chapter 3, verse 16 - that says it all !!...I wish you the best !!
"so there you go ! - you've rejected Jesus Christ so you can mark that off. "
God does not judge...people do. That is the essence of organized religion, as you can see from some of the responses in this thread.
I am positive that Christianity is the right religion becuase I get to have a relationship with my "father " or "God" who created me and knows every hair thats on my head.
How many religions can say that?
wil4life, you said: I been to that chapter and verse in the bible...I was raised baptist...and it all seems like bs to me - so there you go ! - you've rejected Jesus Christ so you can mark that off.
but do you know that for sure? are you positive that there isn't a right religion? and if that is the case..then how did we all get here? where did everything come from?
BELIEVE or you will be forever damned...gee, thats a common response. Fear is what drives the majority of 'Christ' religions, which is very sad.
EVERYONE thinks that their religion is right, even those that don't believe. what matters is if you judge and try to debase their beliefs.
all religions are made up... so you can pick the one you would like to be a part of. there are some that are more logical than others.
Go to differant churches Thats what I did and it took me 2-3 years but I found one I really like and agree with
you don't HAVE to have a religion.
Make up your own.
believe in what you want. studdy a bunch of them.
I don't see any religion as "wrong" just follow your heart and it will lead you to the perfect place.
Not all religions can be right, but they can all be wrong. Consider that.
So goodgirl, are you suggesting that truth is determined by what we like?
no way. no religion is right... some of them are wrong.
Christianity, and I know that it is the right one!:)
I believe in God, not so sure about religions...
Save the planet, sacrifice yourself.
