um if your a super heavy sleeper and they poke you in your temple several time then yes but I highly doubt that you’l be killed by your cat because you’ll feel the pain right away then you’ll wake up so no

my cat likes to lie on my face…luckily I can wake up to take her off.

So I assume its possible that they could suffocate someone if they weren’t careful.
