is this a panic attack?

I feel tense all over and my gums feel itchy and tight, I can’t really describe it more than that because my mind feels completely blank, like I can’t really think of anything… and I keep clenching my jaw and my heart feels like it wants to leap out of my throat.

everytime you feel one coming on, take deep breath, have a glass of water, go out for fresh air & couting from 10 backwards helps!!

So symptoms of panic attacks http://www.healthline.com/galecontent/panic-attack?utm_medium=ask&utm_source=smart&utm_campaign=article&utm_term=Panic+Attacks&ask_return=Panic+Attack

Persons affected with panic attacks usually exhibit a broad range of clinical signs and symptoms that include:

heart palpitations (accelerated heart rate) shaking or trembling sweating shortness of breath or sensation of feeling smothered or choked feeling of tingling chest discomfort or pain nausea or abdominal distress feeling dizzy, light headed, unsteady or faint perceptions of being detached from oneself (depersonalization), or a feeling out of touch with reality (derealization) chills or hot flashes fear of dying fear of going crazy or losing control A person meets the criteria for a panic attack if the symptoms start abruptly, reach a quick peak (usually within 10 minutes), and if the affected individual has at least four symptoms as listed above. In persons who have less than four symptoms during an attack, the disorder is called a limited symptom attack.

Sometimes it is hard to know why you’re having a panic attack… there was a case study done on this girl who had random panic attacks, she’d randomly pass out in class a couple of times a day…

you should talk to someone about it
