where should the punishment be?
A woman here left her 18week old baby in the car while she ran into a shop to bay off a Bill. The car was semi-visible, & the baby had taken long time to finally get to sleep. She decided to leave her in the car, as was just for a minute & plus, she could still see half the car… Anyway, the worst happened… a guy broke into the car & stole it with the baby still in it.. Man was caught soon after & baby safely returned. Here they are talking of charging the mother for neglect.. but I think perhaps they should charge the car thief with child abduction as well as theft.. or perhaps hugely increase the charge for ANY car thief could be a better deterrant? What do you think?
