what do you see as the pros and cons of owning a family pet?

Pros - Teaches children responsibility, studies have shown children with pets are more active and excercise more, unconditional love you get from a pet. Cons - the cost to keep a pet, the cleanup and training, the responsibility if your a family that travels alot, possible allergies.

Pros: there is some one you can always cont on to cheer you up when you are having a bad day. some one to play with, a motivatin for exersise, and to learn responsibilities Cons: Some times takes alot of money, they need alot of attention, they need to be traind, and need to be cleaned up after

isnt cleaning up after the pet a responsiblity. this sounds like a con the way its described. but most of these agreed.

its a pro because it teaches you how to look after things, such as kids in your futer. it gets you ready for that kind of stuff i guess

if ur look at a dog they are good companions but every large animal means some responsibility. However, i just got a puppy and I am the only one who takes care of her. She is a handfull but she is definitely worth it. Make sure u have plenty of space for whatever animal u r buying! pets are like children: you shouldn’t have them if u don’t have the money to care for them!!!

im not buying any pets…i already have six dogs at my dads house and a dog and two cats at my moms…im just asking what people see as the pros and cons of having pets :P
