ok so when you get a physical, your doctor asks whoever is with you to leave the room so he can talk alone with you. he asks you if you have used any drugs or alcohol. what will he say if my answer is yes to either of those questions? because I drink a few times a month and I've smoked pot before. what will he say if I tell him? I know he cant tell my parents but I just dont know if I should lie or not. thanks in advance for any help.
There's really no reason to tell your doctor you drink or smoke pot now and then. He probably wouldn't do anything for you, other than give you dumb pamphlets about drug use and underage drinking. It is confidential information, so tell him if you want help to stop if you feel you are becoming addicted. Most teens experiment with drinking and marijuana, so you're definitely not alone. Be responsible and realize you tried it out but you should save adult activity for adulthood.
well it doesnt sound like you smoke pot offten so say no to that one. and to drinking thats up to you . you can just sya no it really wont make a difference but if you want just say you have drank on occasions like once a month. he just wants to know if you are a heavy smoker/drinker to determine if you would have any further physical illnesses or areas that need looking into to. so dont worry
well, I would say depends how often you do it. like if youve only had a few drinks or smoked a few times, then I say dont tell em. its not that big of a deal. but if its something regular, or heavy, then you probably should
Most drs know that most young people drink.. he knows you probably do weather you are honest or not.. anything you tell him is confedential.. he wont tell your parents he will just tell you how bad it is for you..

Yes, doctors need to know what you're doing and taking in order to help diagnose and rule out stuff. If he's not going to tell your parents, then try not to make his job even more difficult.
