  It wouldn't hurt. And a safety mask or at least bandana too...plus turn on fans, open doors and windows... so you don't breath it. Your lungs are more sensative than your skin... Chemicals aren't good for us ..."toxic " or not.

  yes, oven cleaners are highly alkaline. Basically, the stuff in them turns the fat in your hand into soap and its not pleasant! Also, be careful of inhaling the fumes.
