I cant believe my parents said this to me!

They told me right to my face that “If I ever got my eyebrow peirced while I’m living at my house, they would take everything away from me, and kick me out of the house”

What the eff is that about ?!

And they arn’t even strict parents!! geez whizz…

And I can always take it out, its not permanent…

Answer #1

I guess they’re trying to scare you so if you do something not as bad like the piercing they told you about you cud know what they’re capable of doing and lets say you get pregnant its going to be worse I hope this made sense

Answer #2

They are trying to scare you into not doing it so you don’t look trashy, they wouldn’t actually follow through with it im sure…

Answer #3

Because they care about your appearance, my mom said something like this when I said I wanted my tummy pierced. She told me to do it when I was independent and on my own. I ended up not doing it at all, and you know what, I’m kinda glad I didnt get it at all. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but if it causes your parents to react this way, then you should respect their decision; afterall, they’re the ones that put a roof over your head, food on your plate, clothes on your back, and all expenses out of your pockets.

Answer #4

Your parents were dressed in the world their parents prompted them up for. They are not used to the fashions and body munipulations of todays present world. They have high standards for you and expect to see those through and want you to be happy, yet they are not ready for sudden changes in mishap. Whether you told them or not, they weren’t ready to think of their daughter in ‘pain’ during the time you recieved your eyebrow piercing, and they hope you don’t end up where they haven’t…

Answer #5

loll thats not even bad they’re just intimidating you, if thats considered one of the more shocking things they’ve said you’ve got it pretty damn good.

Answer #6

breathenoemi is right…My parents told me not to get any piercings or tatoos when I lived with them but now that I live on my own, I have my ear pierced and two tatoos with the intention of getting more of each

Its an image thing that parents want to have. They don’t want you to screw up because it makes them look like screw ups. The eyebrow thing in modern society tends to give the apperance of being trash although many people with them are not. Therefore parents don’t want to take chances of being labeled for what their kids decide to do.
