I wanna try-out for cheer leading but I don't know how to do a split. Is there any thing a can do that will help me with doing a split?
I've been a gymnast for 15 years now, the correct way to get a split all the way down is to stretch once everyday. Do lunges so you stretch both the back and front of your legs and make sure it stretches your groin or you will be in a lot of pain! & if you have a friend that is trying out for the team have her help stretch you by facing each other, then put your leg on top of her shoulder and have her walk towards you while she holds onto your shoulders so you stay still. This will really stretch your legs. Once you two are touching bellys doing this exercise you should have a full split :] But getting your split takes a lot of time, dont over stretch yourself
Stretch a lot every day and eventually you will do a split. But it doesn't happen over night, so take your time with it. Don't over due the stretching because you could hurt yourself.
you have to "atempt" to do a split or I guess go down as far as you can go. if you do it one aday you should be able to do the splits in about 30 days
