how do I join the freemasons?

I just looked up “freemasons membership” on Google, and I found this on the official Masons web site. The requirements for membership are:

Being a man, freeborn, of good repute and well-recommended; A belief in a Supreme Being; Ability to support one’s self and family; Of lawful age; and Come to Freemasonry of their “own free will and accord”.

There is nothing in there about having a family member who is a mason already.

you have to know someone already in or be able to prove that you had an ancestor that was one. My great grandfather was and we have one of his pins so I could join if I chose too. But unfortunately you do have to have a tie in and know how to contact them. This unfortunately I cannot tell you because I do not know myself though I would say google is your friend in this case. you may find something. but bare in mind. masons will not give you any information till they think your ready to join. it is a deeply personal thing for some one to ask you to join and they do not do so lightly. So anyone claiming to have information on this is probably lying or are themselves confused and deceived. That said, it is possible that a relative of a mason may have come into possession of documents pertaining to this subject after the mason died. this is unlikely but if your interested look into it. hope I helped. but be sure you understand the masons before you try to do anything. it is a deep and complex group that is nothing like the movies. depending on the part of the world it is a religion. most masons in the southern US are usually Wicca. in europe they are Christian. Just be informed going in.

You have to have a family member that is a Mason. No other way. Sorry if you dont,. But I think you can still be int The Order Of The Northern Star, I’m going to become part of Rainbow Girls soon.

Why would you want to be one?!?! o.O
