You should understand that flu pandemics can be very dangerous. In WWI far more people died of the “Spanish” flu than in battle. Most flus are only fatal to the very young, very old, or those in poor health. The Avian flu can kill healthy adults so if it were to become widespread it could cause millions of deaths like the Spanish flu before it (turns out the Avian flu is related to the deadly Spanish flu). So far this flu has been contained and casualties limited but it is still something to be closely monitored.
