what are some good hamstring workouts?
I really wanna get them!
(glutes are a bonus :) )
Grab something for added weight. Stand up straight. Then, slowly lower your upper body (bending at hips, keeping back straight) go down as far as you can and SLOWLY come back up. Thinking about the muscle in use will also help you isolate that muscle to give you better results. Now, do these about 10- 12 times about 3 sets. The heavier the weight the harder it will be. You want your weight to be heavy enough to where you can barely do 12. Remember to move SLOW. Lunges are also a good one. Be sure to stretch so you don't get to sore!
Actually, leg curls not extensions are the isolating exercise for hamstrings.
Lunges are a good exercise for hamstrings. I notice the women at the gym with great legs do a lot of lunges. My knees don't like lunges so I've never been able to do them though.
Deadlifts are one of the best exercises you can do; it hits a huge amount of muscles including the hamstrings but it doesn't really target them.
If you have access to a gym the three machines that would benefit you would be the Leg Extension(best 1), Leg press and hip conditioner . Keep reps high, weight low for toning. If not a variety of leg squats should do the trick.Do a a squat against the wall and last for as long as you can, keep improving on it. Hope this helps
PUT SOME ANKEL WEIGHTS ON AND LAY ON THE FLOOR AND LIFT
