Since silicon has the same properties as carbon (right?) then its possible for life to be centered around glass instead of carbon-based things right? Would everybody break if they fell? Would brains still work right?

Various people have hypothesized silicon-based lifeforms, yes. It's plausible, but we don't know enough biology to say for sure if it's actually possible.
Silicon-based lifeforms wouldn't be like glass any more than we're like coal, though. "Silicon based" and "carbon based" just refer to the element that the complex molecules we rely on are constructed from.
