well I have a debate on a friend of mine and he pisses me off. Hes like Saying This and That,NO stupid! its that and this.[if you know what I mean] I cant say this and that because I don't really know. But What I do think is Jogging :)
A dip in the cool waters of the swimming pool is on the must-do list of most of us. We know you would rather swim in the pool than do any other workout. But do you know you can enhance your workout efforts several notches higher if you workout against the resistance of water? Yeah, that’s right, try the effective swimming pool workouts to lose body fat and watch the pounds just melt away. And working out in the water is so much fun and yes, less exhausting too!
It suits most age-groups and tailor-made for people suffering from specific conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. Also, it is great for enhancing your balance, endurance, and flexibility. Just a short workout in the pool and you will be done and dusted for the day! Wow! What’s not to like? So grab your swimming suits and start doing exercises in swimming pool.
Fitness and swimming pool somehow can be pronounced in one breath. The workout is fun and relaxing too, working out in summers gets you all hot and bothered, not so much though when you are working it out in the water. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty and find out some of the awesome swimming exercises you can do without well, swimming it out across the length of the pool.
It is not entirely straightforward.
.
In practice it will usually be Jogging, and the typical figures for one hour Jogging are upwards of 500 kCal per hour dependent on your weight and the speed you jog at.
.
Typical non-competitive swimming tends to be nearer to 300 kCal per hour. However serious swimmers who do vigorous freestyle will be expending around 750 kCal per hour or more.
.
In Practice, the average person who is just doing a bit of swimming or jogging to lose weight or keep fit is more likely to jog a decent distance and maintain a fairly high heart rate thus expending a lot of calories, .....
.
..... while a similar non-specialist swimmer is not likely to swim vigorous freestyle for very much more than a few minutes during a one hour swimming session. Swimming breast stroke in particular expends much fewer calories than the other recognized strokes.

Depends on several factors, I'd say.
If you go jogging, how fast do you go? Any slopes/ hills? Do you carry anything (like those training ankle- and wristbands filled with metal.)
If you go swimming, how fast do you swim and what stlyle? Do you go in a pool or lake or will you swim in a river or the sea? And what waves and currents exist there?
A slow jog on a flat sidewalk will burn less than a fast one up-hill. If you swim slowly in a pool, that will be less calories than a fast swim or one in troubled waters. Ever tried swimming in waves, even if they're only 1 yard high? That's extremely tiring.
They bout burn a lot of fat but most doctors say running is the best to9 burn fat :) hope this helped
Thanks for the info Majik :)
