Answer #5

Jesus was a truth giver; he was the truth for that generation on Earth. When a great truth seeker and a great truth giver meet, the result is a great and liberating enlightenment born of the experience of new truth. Truth exists only on high spiritual levels of the realization of divinity and the consciousness of communion with God. You can know the truth, and you can live the truth; you can experience the growth of truth in the soul and enjoy the liberty of its enlightenment in the mind, but you cannot imprison truth in formulas, codes, creeds, or intellectual patterns of human conduct. Static truth is dead truth, and only dead truth can be held as a theory. Living truth is dynamic and can enjoy only an experiential existence in the human mind. No religionist may hope to attain the enlightenment of immortal wisdom who persists in being slothful, indolent, feeble, idle, shameless, and selfish. But whoso is thoughtful, prudent, reflective, fervent, and earnest–even while he yet lives on earth–may attain the supreme enlightenment of the peace and liberty of divine wisdom. Joy and happiness are the outcome of a good life. Do you not realize that the hope of a better nation–or a better world–is bound up in the progress and enlightenment of the individual?”
