Jesus was a truth giver; he was the truth for that generation on Earth. When a great truth seeker and a great truth giver meet, the result is a great and liberating enlightenment born of the experience of new truth. No religionist may hope to attain the enlightenment of immortal wisdom who persists in being slothful, indolent, feeble, idle, shameless, and selfish. But whoso is thoughtful, prudent, reflective, fervent, and earnest–even while he yet lives on earth–may attain the supreme enlightenment of the peace and liberty of divine wisdom. Joy and happiness are the outcome of a good life. Do you not realize that the hope of a better nation–or a better world–is bound up in the progress and enlightenment of the individual?”
