do you think child sex offenders should get a longer jail sentence for ruining a childs life?
5-10 years isnt really a lot to traumatise and probably ruin a young persons life before it has really even begun!
As someone who is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and rape I definitely agree with thedude. Actually, when asked what I want to happen to my abuser, my answer is justice. When asked what I mean by justice - I say castrate him. I hope he goes to jail for a long long time and gets butt raped by inmates. (graphic, but fair.) 5 - 10 years in prison is not enough retribution for me being raped for almost a decade and the post traumatic stress disorder I suffer now.

in my humble opinion the government of any country should do what some middle eastern countries do, that is to apply a proven fail proof method, for example people that steal things they get their hand(s) chopped off, if they commit a sex offence they should get their genitals removed. what I'm saying is that we need a punishment that will cause an impact instead of that B S 5-10 punishment to make people think twice about commiting a sex offence.

And yes, if they are guilty, I think they should be similarly traumatized...losing ones personal parts seems a fair sentence, as long as they are surely, 100% guilty.
I think they should never be allowed to live in a community full of childern again. They have a disease, and they re-commit as a rule. I don't want a baby raper in my neighborhood. Maybe let them live on an islend where there are no children, and they are not allowed off the island. Otherwise...kill them.
Yes, they are. Until we have some proven, effective means of making sure they don't offend again, we should keep them locked up. I know that's harsh but there are so many of them out there and they keep doing it again and again.
I think that if there is no doubt that they are guilty, they should be put away. therapy doesn't do it for most of them and statistically, they will repeat their crimes. they should be put away, no question about it. allex
Sorry but...KILL THEM ALL...painfully...my ex was abused by her stepfather from the age of 5 to 12...I have much anger inside for these predators, I'm lucky not to be locked up myself for murder.
yes they are, they should never be let out regardless of type of sexual crime, those children will suffer for the rest of their lives, the criminals should have to do the same.
I believe the death penalty should be enforced in cases of a child sex offender.
