Why do people think I'm emo?

I wear black and listen to rock music. But thats it. Is that why people call me emo??

people are such judgemental start hanging out with real emos then theyll think you are the same the only way I got rid of that was to where regular t shirts not black

to be honest I get annoyed when people label me. But we do it as well,because all the other people that are different from us, the people that like dance music etc, we call them neds or chavs. But people that label are wrong. Nowadays if we like rock music and like to wear black, then we are automatically called an emo. Pay no attention, cause you're better than them.

so maybe its the way you dress "differantly" from them or just because you dont listen to the same music.

Most people in today's society are obsessed with labels. They feel safe and secure once everyone is categorized. Wearing black and listening to rock music does not necessarily make you emo, unless you consider yourself to be one.
It's very narrow-minded to call people emo. I get it all the time too!

oh my god I know exxxaaactly what you mean.
I have a side fringe and my hair is naturally dark, and yeah I listen to my chemical romance but I also listen to non emo bands like iron maiden etc etc. All my friends call me emo and its so annoying. I dont wear skinny jeans and yeah I wear converse but lets face it most people do.
just ignore everyone else. listening to rock music and wearing black does not mean your emo.

People are dorks! Just becasue you do that does not mean your emo. It's probally becasue they probally dress colorfull and yo don't and they probally listen to rap and stuff which a hate. I wear black sometimes and all I listen to is rock but ya. It's just cause they think your too uncolorfull I guess
