I'm not emo, but that's not what my friends think.

Why the hell are my friends still caling me emo? I've said I'm goth, but they insist on labeling everything I do as emo.

The word emo is now a popularized word to categorize people even if they aren't actually emo. Stereotypically, emo's dress in drab colors (mainly black), cut themselves, and listen to hard core rocker punk music while writing deep, EMOtional poems.
Yeah. Right.
In reality, emo's are just emotional people who are usually vegetarians and are a lot more deep and mature than most people. Really, it's a very general term that can be applied to many people - it can join a lot of other categories. So technically you could be emo AND goth, but it seems like your friends are using the stereotypical version of emo.
In that case, tell them politely but firmly that you are not emo. Try asking them why they think you're emo and then clarify why you do those actions, wear those things, or say those words.

Why label yourself?

If you label yourself then your just giving others the excuae to label you too

Well, that's the way people are. For example, when one of my friends and I are talking abouth this really good movie but the other one hasn't seen it. I call her a deprived child. But she knows Im joking because we laugh after it.

I'm not labeling myself. It's just that my personality fits into the description of a goth. The label chose me, I didn't chose the label. Anyway, goth isn't a label, it's a state of mind.

emo is a state of mind also..it means emotional..a lot of goths are emotional. and I think its labelling myself. I mean your open to be anyone you want to be, people shouldnt judge but unfortunitly they do. tell your friend to ride out and your whom ever you want to be : )
