To clear up errors with atheist part 2

Okay I have to admit, I pasted the worst information ever, and it didn't prove anything. I don't want to force people to christianity, that wasn't my purpose, but I wanted to show there being a possibility of a god, now (this is optional to keep reading)

Here is one thing that we do know"

We know that a jesus christ existed 2,000 years ago, so jesus was a real man ( being the son of god that would be another debate.

But friend, it is so obvious that god is real (if you don't want to hear this just don't read on)
But we see so much proof around us that god exist, but we have been around the proof so much that is is like and so, I see that every day. Eveything has a creator, all of what we have was created. From our dvd player to our shelters and everthing else.some people ask if god created th world and everyhting in it, where did he come from. This is a question that's answer is hard to understand because it is beyond our comprehension.

The word "become" makes reference to "time". God is not related to time, but exists beyond time. When moses asked god who he should say sent him to pharaoh in egypt, god defined himself as "I am that I am". God is ever present. The past and future are just as immediately real to him as the present. This shows god is eternal. He always has been god and always will be god.god is so good, and we are so blind to see god's love for us, he coul just destroy us when he sees us denying and doing evil, but he loves us so much, that he gives us the chance to deny him or accepted him. People say a loving god won;t carry someone to hell. It is not god, it is that perosn's fault why they went to hell. God gives you the offer to do as you please, but it comes with consequences. I was wacthing this documentary about this atheist man, didn't even believe in god until one day, one day he got into a bar altercation and was shot and immediatly rushed to the hospital. The doctors said his lifeline went flat, he had no pulse. He said he went to a place his screamed because his flesh was buring off his skin. He was barefoot and everywhere he stepped was broken pieces of glass, he saw people eatting people to survive, then this unreconizable figure cam to him and said what was he doing there? He is now a pastor. Why would he change so quick? My friends this life is so short, and tommorow is never promised. What would you do if you die and your standing in front of a throne to be judged? What could you do? Satan will be defeated one day, that is why he wants to tempt people to bring them to hell with him, so he dowbfall can be victourus. Satan hates us and tempts us with evil. We might not even know? Don't you think if satan wasn't around causing trouble they're would be world peace. But one day we will all see that god is real, in revelations the time is comming when we will see jesus in mid air with psome of us ascending to heaven with him, the dead will rise and then the trouble will start. Please don't be like the man, god is waiting for us to come to him with open arms, we are all his children. You need proof? If I tell you about the healing I've seen and the people who was delivered from evil, would you believe me? No, because you haven't felt the power of god. God wants to love you, he wacthes as we deny him even though it hurts him so much. All the trouble that is on the earth. Satan is so busy. People getting raped, so much murdering,and the list goes on, but one thing about it no matter how much you suffer in this life, he'll see you through. Now I'll give you the proof, here is the proof: believing is the proof you don't have to see a lighting bolt before you believe,but as you grow in faith god will reveal himself to you and you'll really see that god is always with you. Science couldn't control if this world is going to end, it will the time is so close , if we are not prepared it will come like a theif in the night. Earthquakes, tsunami, hurricanes we haven't see nothing yet, I am telling you this because if I was your neighbor and seen your house is on fire, I'm not going to say "well... Excuse me mam/sir come with me because my house us better, I'll try to break a window or something to get you out of the burning house. But it's not my choice it's yours if you push me away and laugh at me the fire will burn you. I have to be honest, I didn't believe myself but I heard and believed and he has revealed himself threw dreams, thoughts and in my heart and that feeling you have when he's with you. He's our father. Do you think we would have came this far without him? He's is no ordinary father that if you leave he will disown you, you can do w/e you want and he is always arms open and welcoming you back. He's playing fair, he is letting you choose your faith and not forcing himselfon you if you don't want him, and if he isn't, than neither should I, I am sorry if I offended any atheist and I hope one day god will touch your heart and give you that feeling that I have. Do you want short-term pleasure or long-term? And I'll leave that up to you

I appreciate your honesty in admitting that your first post offered no proof. Few people are mature enough to do that. However, the rest of your post offers us only subjective experience and that's not hard evidence either. If we all made choices based on how we feel, we'd screw up all the time. Human emotion and experience is very personal and not on solid ground when it comes to reality. Our brains make a lot of mistakes so we can't always trust that if something feels good, we should buy into it.

I think Christians would be better served by living out their beliefs of love and charity. If we atheists were treated better by most Christians, then we (as a group) would be more likely to reciprocate. I advocate this to my atheists friends as well - that we should be friendly and kind. I think it's high time we stop fussing with each other and start finding some common ground.

That is no proof that he EVER existed. Maybe it's proof though faith... but I don't see any proof through science.

I want to say if you get any REAL proof please im begging you tell me if you do come up with any proof that is remotely real I will believe in god and read the bible and live by it...but only if you give me proof

In all honesty, you can't even prove your own existence. All of our separate and subjective realities are based upon chemical and electrical impulses interpreted through our brains. This could all be an illusion. But then again mathematically speaking it is very likely that God does exist. You can use the same calculations that you would use to prove the likely hood of intelligent life in the universe and apply it to God, with a few variations. Carl Sagan did this in his book "Billions and Billions" And basically you have better odds of winning the lottery every day for the next 40,000 years straight than for the universe to have ended up as it has randomly without some direct intervention.

Science and neither prove or disprove Spirit and God is Spirit. And you want a Scientific Answer? God gave us all the answers we need all you have to do is open your eyes and mind. . . .

God is contradictory, religious people say nothing can exist without an intelligent creator, but that immediatly contradicts the existance of God.. because with that logic he would need a creator. But their response is "He always has been" Surly if God can have a nature without a cause, then the laws of physics can have their own cause and their own nature.

There will never be proof, and never has been proof of any Gods in my opinion. Because they are not real. They have always been an explanation.

domzila, mathmatics to try and prove any God might be valid, but it still does not prove the existance of God, mathmatics used to simplify the number of intelligent life in the universe, is only an estimate of something that is likely. However "Gods" in this case would only be intelligent life. Not in the defination of an all-knowing all-powerful creator, which I find impossible.

Sorry, if you're trying to convert us atheists, neither "it's so obvious", nor word games, nor argument through analogy are going to be particularly persuasive. Only a well reasoned argument from empirical evidence is persuasive, and the whole evasiveness of god makes that rather difficult.

Actually I thought you Atheist were trying to convert the rest of us.

There is no converting to atheism. One just needs to admit that there is no such thing as the supernatural. Until one does that, they are in denial.

I never said it did. I didn't say nobody was converting - just that we're not going out and actively trying to convert people, for the most part. I'm guessing by your lack of response that you've had no atheist door-knockers? I'm not surprised - if you're going to talk about people being "keen to convert everyone", atheism isn't the place to look.

Questions from atheist seeking to sway the beliefs of other lead me to believe otherwise. In the art of Debate you seek to prove your point and sway the beliefs of others, Same as anyone else does. . . . If you sway a christian to believe that God does not exist they have been converted to the teachings of the Atheist. . . So yes you do seek to convert others otherwise you would not state what you feel to be right. Every time you leave a post here teaching Evolution you are Actually and actively going out into cyberspace seeking to sway someones understanding, So you are actively trying to convert people.

Sorry, but we really don't even know that much. Christian history is explained more simply without a historical Jesus than with one.

Once again, I'm not claiming that atheists don't debate people, and that people don't give up their religion as a result. What I'm saying is that atheists, as a rule, don't actively go out there with 'conversion' in mind, while religious people do.

The Religion section obviously isn't just a place for religious people to discuss issues among themselves. It's also a place for atheists and agnostics to post, and many people post questions obviously directed toward atheists, agnostics, and humanists.

If you don't like having atheists, etc. come on here and post their views, ask the advisors to make a separate forum where Christians can chat with only Christians and label it as such.

rnealw: For the nth time, no, I'm not claiming that no atheists have ever attempted to 'convert' christians. There is, however, a difference between conversion and persuasion or reasoned argument, and you'll see a whole lot more of the former from religious people. Again, how many atheist door-knockers do you see?

like for example my dad was watching tv about scientists and they said this snail was like 5,000 years old... guess what it did... it came out of its shell and started crawling away (or whatever snails do) we dont need scientific proof for everything
