Why would be any harder or easier for a gay woman to gain the respect of her 16 YO son than a strait woman?
Respect is earned and is a two way street. A parent who loves, guides, and respects their children will eventually earn their child's respect.
Dear soniarosa,
Perhaps your son doesn't respect the fact that you feel you've turned gay...Being gay is biological and you just don't turn that way one day. He may be upset that you were not true to yourself and didn't show yourself the respect you should have. Gay couples have children all the time and raise them with the honestly of their situation. Perhaps family counselling will allow your son to see you may have done the best you can giving your circumstances at the time. The world is much different today and people are allowed more freedom to be who they are....I think he may want to hear why things are the way they are and why you made the choices you did.
Sue...good luck
my mom is gay I respect her. but thats because she is my mom and what she does with her life is up to her but no matter what she will always be my mom maybe you just need to chat with your son to help him relize that
um......I guess he is in the teenage stage right now.......so having a gay mother might embarrase him .........but he may eventuall why grow out of it and learn to respect u
Yes she can if you talk to your son about it he will respect you if you were a good mother to him and a positive influence in his life.
