no dont even go in the water if your not wearing a tampon. my mom is a nurse she told me that whieke you are on your period something inside you opens up thats what lets everything out it doesnt close up unless you are done with your period so if you go in the water while on your period stuff could go up there:/ I dont think you want that
hope I helped
cant believe how uneducated people are about things like this. offcoarse you bleed in the water amorea1995. do you think your body stops bleeing fro a few hours because your in the water! dont wear pads they disolve and that will be embarrasing. the best thing to do is wear tampons- they're really not bad once you get used to them. if you find it cuncomfortable then you cant be putting it in right
Girls are told that when they get a shower or bath it's ok to not wear a tampon because you don't bleed when you get in the water. This does not occur for the whole time that you go swimming. You will bleed while you're swimming. If you wear a pad it will dissolve and then you will be left with pieces of pad swimming around you...very embarrassing. Wearing a tampon is the only way to really be safe when you're in the water.
If they're uncomfortable for you try using the slender ones (I think Tampax or Playtex) makes them. You can also try using the plastic applicator ones...sometimes they're easier to insert than the cardboard ones. If they are hard to get in try using a little bit of Vaseline or lubrication on the tip...it will make it go in easier.
Good luck
Dont use vaseline.
My doctor said that would burnn and iritate you.
And, I have swam for at least an hour while on my period and I did not bleed. You just have to make sure to put on your pad as soon as you get out.
In the ocean, it might be different. Im not sure.
