Is it wrong to love my dad more than I love my mom?

Me and my mom have a bunch of rocky issues and still going on to this day, but with my dad, we actually talk like to civilized people, we rarely argue anymore like me and my mom do.

Am I wrong for loving my dad more?

Note: There is more to this, but I don’t want to get into major detail

Answer #1

i don’t think it is….its the same with me i love my Mother more than my Dad its the little things that make me and my Mother get on more and past things that have pushed my Dad away from me but made me and my Mother stronger. in my opinion i think its natural to love one parent more than another.all my friends are the same.

Answer #2

nope, just dont let ur mum knw………..lol

Answer #3

You know, a major part of it might be because you don’t live with your dad. Your mom is going to get on you for things more often because you live in her house and she needs to keep things under control. It’s great that you get along better with your dad right now, but I don’t think that means you love him more.. Your mom has done so much for you, too.. and you really need to take that into consideration. Yes, you guys have a rocky relationship right now, but that’s what happens with teenagers and when you start coming into your own, you’ll look back and remember who did what for you and you’ll definitely appreciate them more. Don’t forget, you’re 18 now, and she still hasn’t kicked you out. Doesn’t that show a bit how much she loves and cares about you?

Answer #4

She threatens to kick me out after every arguement we have

Answer #5

Do you pay rent?

Answer #6

No, her anger gets in the way of her real emotions

Answer #7

Well, still, you’re living under her roof, and you can either bite your tongue and deal with her mood swings, or move out.. I pay rent, buy my own food, work, take care of the house, and I still respect my mom and not argue with her..

Answer #8

I do try my best to get along with her, it’s almost like our relationship has “mood swings” a LOT.

Answer #9

Absolutely nothing wrong with that…its a sad issue but understandable!

I have to say I am in the same boat with you…my mom & I are forever on rocky grounds & will never ever see eye to eye on anything…:(

As for my dad…him & I are a lot more civil…there is a mutual respect there & I know I can always count on my daddy!(yeah I said it that way on purpose…):P

Answer #10

I remember you always mentioning that. It’s sad and I hope you guys work it out, but make sure you still respect her while you’re living in her house ;)

Answer #11

I’m trying Moe, my mom doesn’t know that I want to move to PA

Answer #12

um… well i was in the same situation and my mum died… bt thats jus me

Answer #13

Not at all, dear.

Answer #14

idk soo listen to ur heart

Answer #15

not really,,,it depends who pays more attention to you..thats the one u will choose

Answer #16

I love both my parents the same. But me and my dad are into things my mom isn’t into. Like Sports for instance, my mom likes football and baseball and that’s all. My mom and brother are into more of the same things. It doesn’t mean I love my dad more.

Answer #17

i feel the same way i love my dad way more than i love my mom because my mom had like alot of issues as i was growing up. my parents are divorced now and i choose to live with my dad, its hard for me to trust or even love my mom now

Answer #19

Not wrong. It just means you have more affection to one than the other. I know it feels like wierd and wrong because they are both your perents but lets face it there is favorites for everything.
