If a pregnant woman walks into a bar and wants a drink, does the bartender have to serve her?

would that be discrimination if he doesnt?

Answer #1

The establishment retains the right to refuse alcohol to anyone that they feel should not be drinking. This applies to anyone underage or who is clearly intoxicated beyond their means, and it can apply to pregnant women, as well, as the bartender has the best interests of the unborn child in mind. The woman might try to fight it in a court of law, but no judge in their right mind will award her restitution for this.

Answer #2

Most bars allow their bartenders to use discretion when serving customers. They can cut people off when they feel they have had too much, and they can chose not to serve if they feel an ID has been faked. It is possible that the lady could file a discrimination case against the bar, but she would not win. It would also entail her admitting that she wanted to drink. It is only discrimination if someone complains. Chances are it would just be a small scene when the lady gets upset and that would be the end lol

it was so funny cuz she threatened to call the police when there was like 8 people in the store, and the owner was like…. go for it. he was all calm and she looked like she was a rage zombie from 28 days/weeks later…

Answer #7

If she has admitted to being pregnant, he can refuse. Otherwise she can sue him when her child comes out deformed.

Answer #8

It isnt against the law for a woman to drink while pregnant? And yes it would be discrimination and she could sue (at least in the U.S., and here the jury awards money not the judge). But she has to be informed of FAS or she could sue.
