Why won't my mom let me do my hair how I want it?
I’m 14 and my mates have longish hair. My mom makes me cut my hair every half term/holidays and it’s really annoying because it has only just grown back to the way I want it and then I have to get it cut. And I constantly ask myself why me? Why shouldn’t I be able to have my hair the length/style I want it? Please help because my mom is starting to drive me crazy with the whole independance thing.
Mom’s love a nice clean looking kid. Sorry, but that is how most of them are. Have you tried showing her pictures of how you would like it to be? Will she let you have your hair the way you want it for 6 months and see if she can handle it? Ask her if you can make a compromise somewhere in the middle.
I don’t want to be her clean tidy kid anymore though. I want to have my independance. And I’ve tried showing her pictures but she just sais that my hair won’t grow like that and stamps on it. My last haircut wad about 5 weeks ago and I really don’t like it and prefered it long. Basically I want emo hair and the choice of when I want to get it cut.
The 6months Idea is pretty good. I will try it tomorow and I will also ask for her to compromise if that fails. Thanks
