No one ever said that fish was not meat.
You're confusing the Catholic tradition of fasting with the secular tradition of vegetarianism. Catholics used to fast for Lent, which has evolved over the centuries from fasting into giving something up that the believer found important or valuable. In many families, this means giving up meat and substituting fish.
So Good Friday is not a day of vegetarianism. It's a day of giving something up, and that often means red meat, since it's a valuable part of most people's diets.
I really have no idea were that whole thing came from but I heard it was because its white meat and not red meat but in reality, fish IS meat its an animal, it doesnt mater if its a mammal, a reptile a bird a fish, ect its a living beathing animal full of meat, veins, muscles, organs, ect to survive when you kill a fish, you eat its meat and your eating an animal
it is. one of my sisters is a vegetarian and so is one of my friends. Fish is no acception. meat is meat--it comes from living animals. same with fish.
uhm? you know chickens arent mammals right? they're birds? and chicken is also white meat?
I've heard it is because they're not warm blooded...
because meat comes from mammals not fish so fish is not considerd meat
ITS BECAUSE ITS NOT RED MEAT, AND ALSO THE MAMMAL THING
fish is more considered seafood like shrimp.
Because fish are not warm-blooded mammals.
Meat is muscle btw :)
Fish is meat.
