Why has menstruation age got earlier?

Why is it that in 1850, girls in England would have started their periods aged 16 or 17. But today, most girls usually get it between the ages of 11-14. Why has it got earlier? :D

There are theories, such as a sexualized society… However, there’s no way to answer this question… Unless you could replicate a society in the 1800s and then compare it to a society now, there is no way to answer this question definitively…

my health teacher told us that the types of tv we watch can make us go through puberty faster. lol. now, kids are all watching sex and relationships shows, so it probably has something to do with it. I think he said it had something to do with the brain?
