I know our finger nails grow about 4x faster than our toe nails

hair on your head does stop growing, it can just grow longer. Hair has a “growth phase.” The longer the growth phase, the longer the hair can grow before it falls out and is replaced. The length of the growth phase is determined by the size of the hair follicle. Larger follical = longer hair.
