why do prostitutes go to jail, and how long do they go to jail?
Its a victimles crime but it is still illegal in 49 states. I don't think they get into to much trouble, mabey an overnighter and then they get released, but different state laws vary
When they go to jail, they go because of ridiculous laws. How long depends on the jurisdiction.
Just legalize it, and concetrate on real crime.
They go to jail because someone who's up for re-election wants to look like they're 'tough on crime', so they round up some hookers for the night.
Not really an answer, but, when they do go to jail, they never stay in there long ENOUGH. Back out there again by the next night unfortunately.
