Why can't I fall pregnant, I had an abortion a year ago?

I had an abortion in May last year. I was wanting to know if the reason I can’t fall pregnant is because of the abortion? I am having sex every 2-3 days. Why can’t I conceive? Any ideas on how I can conceive? and what could be preventing me from falling pregnant.

Woah, nice scare story there KDSMM! Actually, if you have an early medical TOP (termination of pregnancy, where you are given tablets and a pessary to induce a miscarriage) you’re not getting anything vacuumed out and nothing is EVER RIPPED out, even if you had a termination later on in the pregnancy (where a meducal procedure is implemented, ie a ‘vacuum’)

You should be fine, honey. If you had the correct procedure done and looked after youself after the termination (ie. did not expose youself to infections etc by having intrercourse too soon) .

Women who have had terminations generally go on to have sucessful pregnancies. However, if you really are just 16, then you shouldn’t be trying to get pregnant. Especially after having a termination just last year, you need to come to terms with that before considering concieving again. Live your life before you become a mama.

  2. They commonly tell people that they won’t have a problem conceiving after an abortion, but the simple truth is, when they vacuum the baby out, the placenta is RIPPED from the uterus. That creates a large patch of scar tissue on the uterine wall which makes implantation difficult.

This is something that you’ll have to discuss with your doctor. Generally if you’ve had an abortion done properly you should not have problem falling pregnant. But sometimes having an abortion could cause you to struggle to fall pregnant. So my advise is to make an appointment at your doctor ASAP.
