What is another OTC sleep promoter besides melatonin?

I use melatonin but it’s bot working is tere anythig else? Isn’t there something like alteril or something??

Answer #1

Also try onions or endive hearts or radicchio. Give it a week or so.

Other general tips are don’t go to sleep until you’re tired, set a morning alarm, and find something relaxing to do for an hour before bed.

Answer #2

I take three 5mg tablets and it doesnt do much. I sit staring at the ceiling and just dont sleep. I dont care if its not natural.

Answer #3

Most people need 25 mg of melatonin for it to make a difference. For some reason the manufacturers always make it in very small dosages. Still trying to figure out why.

You can try the OTC medicines, but you shouldn’t use them for too long, because unlike melatonin they can be very addictive. Why not speak to your pharmacist or doctor about it? I’m sure they’ll be able to help you the best.

Answer #4

How much melatonin are you using? I.e. how many mg? Melatonin is the only NATURAL sleep promoter, you do get other over the counter sleeping pills (over here we have somnil and betasleep, but the contain anti-histamines and long term use will really NOT be good for you.)
