I've written quite a decent novel about life on the frontline in the trenches at night, reply with what you think.

THE MIDNIGHT WAR

It was dark, the shrill of owls swooped low over-head, and the bats shriek in fright, Yet adventure. The stars shone down lighting up the whole of the battlefield, As a million suns far off in the cold emptiness of space. A peaceful night. Suddenly, a howl of a hundred shells screamed just above our heads. I was frightened. Every man disguised by his fearsome armour and fire arms, huddled and shuddered as the impact of the artillery shells rained down on the enemy that could be heard, felt, and seen, giving off a glimpse of sunlight every few seconds. The cries from half a mile away sank in our hearts as men just as young as we were, were screaming and crying in agony. Jimmy, a good friend of mine, both perched up 10feet above the battlefield in a machine gun nest. The solid frost bitten metal stung as every so often we would try to manoeuvre it aiming at the enemy front line. We shivered as the cold night sky bit at our fingers seizing them up to death. All of a sudden, a deafening silence looms above no-mans land, and the shells seized. The roar of whistles went off along the front line in the trenches. “Up and Over” and “This is it” were called out repeatedly along the smelling muddy trenches. The men just marched to their death.

oh and I'm making a short film of it to stick on youtube. check it out.
