Can my 3 month old puppy have treats?

what can I feed my 12 week old puppy? she is already on puppy food, but can I feed her pigs ears and bones and stuff like that?

Answer #1

Well…skip the milk idea…as a treat (or at all, for that matter)…

Many manufacturers of dog food make Puppy Bisiquits…stick to those for treats…Pigs ears are too much for puppy tummy’s…

why not instead of giving him bones give him some cooked chicken without bones of course or some yogurt hes too small to be having pigs ears and bones. some treats are also better specially if you pu them inside a puppy kong they will have so much fun just trying to get them out it!! :)

hope I helped!! :)

Answer #3

NO do not give your puppy Pigs Ears and Bones, I don’t care what bred of puppy it is they are to young at 12 weeks to eat those things. They can choke, puncture stomach lining or intestinal.

I have read that Pigs ears are not even good for any dogs because like bones they can splinter in the dogs thoat, stomach or intestines.

Answer #4

I waited until my puppy was a little older before I gave him pig ears and bones since he hadn’t lost his teeth, I didn’t want to worry about him hurting his teeth and gums since it was about time for them to come out. But they do have softer treats for puppies that you can give your dog.

Answer #5

When my puppy was that age I went to Pet Smart and got her bones. Just make sure that you get her larger ones so that she doesn’t choke on them. Also they have pet treats that say that they are for puppies.

Milk will cause loose stools. Not good.

Answer #7

just give him milk thats all he needs at his age! my dog is 10 weeks old and that is all he eats

Answer #8

Sorry “13chick”…if the only thing that your 10wk old puppy eats is milk..then you should NOT be owning a dog.

Answer #9

read the back of the puppy treats you get in a pet shop, they will keep you right. I have a 7 week old pup and im currently looking too, at 3 months old you should keep him to specified puppy treats. no bones you may do more damage than good.
