Does wearing a certain thing give people a visual of who you are?

What we wear is a look into our personality, that is why people dress well for an interview or a first date.

I find that it does, even though what we are wearing only gives a snapshot of a whole person. Whether we like it or not, people who don’t know us are likely to judge us based on our appearance. Think of it this way: say you’re a person who takes pride in dressing nicely wherever you go, people might assume that you’re more intelligent or that you have more money. If someone happens to see you the one day that you don’t feel well and you’re wearing sweatpants and an old shirt, they might assume that you’re lazy or a slob. I’m not saying that it’s right or that everyone does it, but it does happen.

It’s projected perception great for a job interview but from a personal aspect …it’s best to never judge a book by it’s cover.

People will always want to stick some kind of label on others in some way. However this isn’t something to put a great deal of stock in. There are complete morons walking around in 10000 dollar suits. There are also brilliant people who dress in sweat-pant and Velcro shoes. Thinking that you’ll gain some sort of valuable information about another person without actually speaking to them may be a sign of a shallow mind set
