Is it true that in 2009 you will have to at least have cable to watch TV, and you cant get it for free? Wats up with that??
At present TV stations transmit in 'analog' - next year in Feb. these transmissions will be in 'digital' - so if you TV is analog only, it will receive no signal unless it has a converter box or other means to convert it to a useable signal - this article explains it better:

Take care !!
not sure but I heard something like that...I think that theres going to be only 1 king of cable and you need to buy it and than connect to the tv and I think thats it and another kind also is that you will be able to watch the cable for free if you have a plasma tv something like that I think...heard it on the tv a few months ago
Clarification: By law, television stations nationwide must switch from the old analog method of transmitting TV signals to a digital signal (DTV) no later than February 17, 2009 - you can get a coupon from the Gov't to save money if you need a converter box here: https://www.dtv2009.gov/
No! You can still watch TV over the air but you do have to get a special converter that lets your TV pick up the HD signal.
you need comcast digital revolution lol it sucks
Yeah. But I have cable so no worries
