Do you think it is right for a teacher to duct tape a student to his desk....?

When I was elementary school, there was a boy who wouldn’t stay in his seat and do his work. The boy was only about 6 years old. The teacher placed the boy in his seat, got some duct tape, and taped his seat to his desk, trapping him. The duct tape was wrapped several times from the back of the seat to the front of the desk…do you think the teacher had a right to do this? In my opinion, I think she could have handled it differently…

Answer #1

if he was older it would be hilarious but hes only young so, i dont think its quite right but i can see why th teacher did it.

Answer #2

well ur 17 right? so back then teachers could do whatever. they had the paddles they had the wooden spoons anything that could make a kid cry. honestly the kid was lucky not to get hit or anything. he got off easy

Answer #3

No, thats child abuse. The duct tape could’ve hurt him or he could’ve been allergic. Its not the right way to handle the situation what so ever. If someone ever did that to me my parents wouldve sued the f*ck out of the school & teacher.

Answer #4

lol…

Answer #5

Not all schools had paddles when I was younger…sheesh you make it seem like I am 40!!!

Answer #6

No, if you become a teacher then you need know how to deal with hyperactive kids.

Also duct tape can be dangerous, because it doesn’t let your body breathe and cause death via your body overheating and your then passing out and dying. And doing it to a 6 year old kid is just dangerous and stupid. I personally would have fired the teacher for not even using common sense.

So what she did was irresponsible. It’s dangerous. If she can’t deal with the kids then she should find another job.

Answer #7

ahaha whoopsy!!! well some school did like where my dad grew up but yah around 20 or 30 years ago they did that and some school ignored the new laws and continued it

Answer #8

its not right that is not her kid so she need to keep her fckn hands to herself and its humiliating and degrading to have everyone watch as ur being taped thats like spanking someone elses kid ithout permission if i ever had kids and someone taped them i would want to kill them, this kind of stuff p!sses me off so fcken bad mabey im just over reacting

Answer #9

From what I’ve read, you said the duct tape was on the seat not on the kid? Thus I dont see why everyone’s making this into a huge deal. Could it have been handled differently, sure. But it’s not the end of the world to be trapped in your seat.

Answer #10

ITS NOT EFFIN CHILD ABUSE!!!!!! poeple like you irritate me sooo much . its because of people like you that there is “No Child Left Behind.” or as i say… “No Teacher Left Alive.”

thats a poposterous thing to say.

Answer #11

Answer #12

Answer #15

Answer #16

Answer #19

Woah, the states are crazy. (No that is not a bash at americans) But in the UK that would cause public outcry. So yeah, I think its wrong.
