How do you soothe red, irritated skin fast (see description)?

So I read online that you can use olive oil when you shave your legs, instead of shaving cream or soap. And I’m really into using natural products because the chemicals in store-bought products can irritate your skin, so like and idiot…I tried it. =) Turns out olive oil works just as well as water for shaving - haha I feel like I did it dry - gaaahhhhh this is so embarassing!!! Good thing I have random people on the internet to ask! :) The point is, now my legs are itchy, red, and burn just a little (not dry though because oil is obviously moisturizing). Does anyone know of something veeerryyyy gentle that would help? I actually tried some Aloe Vera gel, and it burned so I rinsed it off…

Answer #1

Do you have any pure aloe vera juice? Like the kind thats drinkable? That stuff will work well and it has no alcohol in it. I’d say apply more olive oil though.

Answer #2

Unfortunately the only aloe vera I have is from equate and it’s dyed bright green, so it’s not too pure =) Thanks!

Answer #3

Oh that stuff always has burned me =/ The alcohol in it hurts irritated skin.

Answer #4

That was the only one I could find. I really want to check out a store called “Nature’s Harvest” to see if they have the pure gel. Better yet the actual plant haha

Answer #5

try an oatmeal bath? and certain lotions have soothing effects also.
