I'm lactose intolerant, So milk, ice cream, cheese any dairy products I get a bad stomach and then usually have to rush to use the bathroom... not fun. So I drink Soy milk instead. It really depends how bad you are, some people can handle a small amount of dairy products, others can't hold any at all without getting sick.
You can also drink rice milk or almond milk (almond milk very yummy). Soy in general can have adverse long term effects. As a vegetarian, I've cut waaayyyy back on soy.
The common primary symptoms of lactose intolerance are gastrointestinal include:
flatulence (passing gas).
Well,I recently turned lactose intolerant,and every time I drink milk I get bad cramps in my stomach...I guess that that would be a sign of it.;P :)
