Answer #1

I keep mine on it safe

Answer #2

dont turn it off..put it on stand by. when you want to use it, it comes back without takin forever to turn back on

Answer #3

It is ok… but the computer must be in a cold room(airconditioned room).. just to keep the computer cold against overheating…

Answer #4

A penny saved is a penny earned. Turn it off. This will also protect from lighting and other electrical mishaps.

Answer #5

You can keep it on as long as its in a cool area. I have a laptop and, when I’m not doing anything, then its off but, when I want to search for something or if I need to do something, then its on. I leave mine on when I’m gone so that when I come home, its ready for me to do something. I’ve never had problems having the computer on. So whatever you want to do, just make sure to turn your computer off before you go to bed or turn it off when you don’t feel like browsing anymore.

Answer #6

I would turn it off. Even on stand by it keeps various components warm or even hot. Wears them out sooner.

Answer #7

It uses up electricity all the time, and someone pays for that electricity, and somewhere gets polluted to produce the electricity. So, unless you are coming back to it fairly soon, I think it’s best to turn it off. (I actually unplug mine, because it still ‘hums’ when it’s off, and that hum presumably means that it’s still using electricity for something.)

Answer #8

for a casual every now and again user of computers, I would turn it off.

for a daily user, leave it on. leaving it on allows automation of defrag/virus scans etc.

Another thing to consider, your computer is significantly more likely to hang/freeze/crash on startup and shutdown than any other time.

Answer #9

as long as it has a couple of fans inside then it shouldnt really matter, just keep the monitor off.

Answer #10

Just need to turn the computer offf, the screen won’t eat much

Answer #11

I keep mine off.
