Relationship help?

I like this guy…but I don’t know if he likes me. If I ask him out and he doesn’t like me, it’ll be embarrassing. We’ve known each other since year 2. Does this mean he likes me?: We were in the hammock outside my house and he asked me if I like anyone. I said who I used to like. I asked him who he liked and he said: “I used to like u”.

Can someone give me advice on what to do?

Thing is, if he says no, it’ll be sooo awkward.

If I do ask him out, is it wise to do it via email? because face to face would make it even mre awkward. : /

Think of this: which is worse, getting embarrassed, and then getting over it, ( which will happen ) or never telling him how you feel and keeping all your feelings bottled up untill he gets a girlfriend and then It’s too late. Also think of this, you only get one life so you should make the most of it.
