How to recover after wisdom teeth are taken out?

I had surgery to have my bottom wisdom teeth taken out late yesterday afternoon. I know everyone recovers at a different rate, but how long did it take you, or someone you know? This is the first time I’ve been really awake enough to do anything since the surgery, but am feeling groggy again. I’ve basically only eaten yogurt, any suggestions on when I should start incorporating other foods? I’m kind of a baby about these things and tend to be very cautious about overdoing it.

were you put to sleep or were you awake while getting them out?

when i got mine out i was put to sleep so im going to answer like you were put to sleep;

the first week was hard to recover because i was very swollen and my meds were making me ill. i would say that it would take two good weeks for a good recovery but to feel mostly back to normal, for me it was three weeks. until then it is hard to eat certain foods so i would stay with soft foods that are easy to chew. baby foods, yougurt, mashed foods, banans that are mashed anything like that is good.
