is taking a prescription pain pill from time to time ok?

When they are not prescribed to you. Your girl asks you not to, so you sneak one from time to time because your job is very stressful and causes lots of pains in your body? Oh, and how about just taking one to two before you go out drnking? yet you say it isnt for the buzz……is this ok?

Answer #1

No. Obviously not. Especially not right before drinking. Most of the painkillers that are abused are opiates, in the same family as opium and her.oin. Whether it is for the buzz or not, using it to relieve stress shows drug abuse. Given their highly addictive nature (opiates are the most addictive substances out there), you’re looking at falling into drug dependence very quickly.

Answer #2

If your using it when its not prescribed and taking them recreationaly for fun - you are just asking for a dr.ug addiction. I started off like that and i can tell you that pain pills are one of the biggest problems and not easy to come off of once your addicted. Its also illegal if you get caught with one…where im from one unprescribed bill can get you six months in ja.il. They are for patients with actual pain…not for teens who are stressed or wanting to have fun….

it is my man that does this, and I have been more aginst this than anything, it is to the point where He wont tell me if he takes one. He thinks because it is 1-3 a week it is nothing, and that is if it is only 1 or 3. I always thought even one could kill you.

Answer #4

I agree with you, no pain pills. They screw up your kidneys, like all prescription medication.
What is it you want to stop the pain of?

Answer #5

No offense here, not trying to judge you or your life…but to be honest, you simply sound like a cookie monster to me…abusing dr*gs & alcohol with this question… Popping pills due to stress is clearly showing me that you have a serious problem. Maybe you need to talk to someone about that stress, I am sure there are plenty of ways to deal with stress in your life & mixing both pills & booze with them really dont make it go away in the long run! I see before me…a clear case of abuse right there!

please seek professional help you really seem like you need it!

I wish you all the best!

Answer #6

i just read that part about the “man” if he is the one doing this then he needs help because the way you stated that in your post, was more like as if it was you not him…

in order to avoid this kind of mix up in the future, might want to write the exact issue rather then beat behind the bush…if you would have just stated from the begining that it was your man that was having the issue & if it was ok for him to be doing all that it would have made things so much clearer for all that read that! :(

Answer #7

Yeah, I kinda figured you werent talking about yourself from the way you phrased it. When I said you’re, I meant a general whoever is doing the dru.gs. It wasnt aimed at you. You’re looking at the profile of an addict. He’s taking a drug (just replace the word her.oin for pain killer, that’s basically what it is). He’s rationalizing. He’s hiding it. He wont stop even though it is causing trouble in his life. I mean, could one pill kill you, I suppose technically anything is possible. But it isnt likely. However, is he headed or already on the path towards a serious addiction problem, yeah… You’ve listed all the major signs we look for when checking for addictions.

Answer #8

Your man is doing this?, tell him it will eventually catch up with him. There are natural remedies one can take from your local health food store or vitamin shop. For instance: I have a pain in my right knee, and I just recently found out about Sam-e. Taking it has taken away the pain and swelling, and each time I take it it gets less and less pain. What is good about this is it has no side affect, and doesn’t damage the liver or kidneys. Also, tell him this. The best sensation one has is the sensation his own body produces, not from taking alcohol or medication. They all deaden ones sensations.

Answer #9

thank you, it is his knees that hurt all the time, he is 45, nd a carpet installer, so he is on his knees a lot.

Answer #10

iv,e only used cough medicine with coedine a few times, most for fun…but for a while i was addicted to the 7.5mg vicodin
