Can I swim with a pad?

Im about to have my period and was wondering if I didnt have to swim with a tampon? could I use a pad? and does a tampon hurt? im scared =[

Answer #1

pads won’t work for swimming, they get waterlogged and won’t work, and they won’t stick to your bathing suit. I just started using a tampon a couple of days ago and I deffinitly prefer them. I mean it’s a lot more work to get them in before because I’m still getting use to get but they are better. they don’t hurt their just a little uncomfortable at first. and a word of advice. don’t change it for a good 4-6 hours or else it’ll sorta hurt when you take it out.

Answer #2

you cant use a pad… it will dissolve in the water… it depends how heavy your flow is that day you might be able to swim without one just stay in the water as often as you can and dont stay out for longer than a few minutes.

Answer #3

You can’t use a pad! You need to use a tampon! Usually your vagina will close in water but I wouldn’t take chances so use a tampon and change it straight away when you get out because it will leak everywhere. Sometimes tampons can hurt. It’s best to get one with an applicator because that hurt less. Personally I like tampax compax because they are fairly comfortable to insert and are really discreet. It’s best to get a high absorbancy one for swimming because it will soak up the water in the swimming pool as well as your blood! Hope this helped x

Answer #4

deffinately use a tampon! and they don’t hurt if you put them in correctly. ask your mom or and adult female to explain how if your that uncomfortable. but really you can’t even feel them.

Answer #5

it dosn’t hurt unless you insert it wrong, try ob tampons they are easy to insert and they are super comfortable. but summer is here so you gotta use them. pads make you feel like a baby, and can definatly not be worn with a bathing suit.

Answer #6

If you wanted to swim, you’ll have to use a tampon. And no tampons dont hurt, you dont feel them at all actually. I was scared to use them too, but now I’ve been useing them for about six years now. So dont be scared.

Answer #7

u definitely have 2 use a tampon, with a pad, you wud still leak. water wud get into it. tampons are like inserted straight into yur ‘area’. I’ve never used one, I’m scared 2 use 1 to, but we’ll have 2 use one eventually: summer’s here!

Answer #8

you must use a tampon!! IT DEPENDS ALWAYS!!! so does anyone get my joke?

Answer #9

doesn’t hurt unless you stick it up too far…assuming you have never put anything up there before. don’t worry. get a small size of tampon—not “Super Plus” obviously. I think playtex has a “sport” size. try that. and go at a 30 degree angle. trust me.

Answer #10

Get those tampons that have a smooth applicator (they will be really easy to put in) It may hurt at first because you’re not used to it and your muscles down there may tense up making it hurt but once you get used to them you will relax and it will be simple to put in. You will never miss pads, because its so much cleaner and fit conveniently in your purse. But make sure you change it every 3 hrs at most and follow directions closely.
