Are pedophiles born as pedophiles?

No. Pedophilia can’t be born, but rather developed in a person’s life. The raising of a child can influence what they will be later in life though so they could develope that from a young age but are certainly not born with it.

i don’t agree that being sexually abused as a child may make you sexually abuse other people later in life, but i do think it has something to do with your upbringing or a traumatic event, but not everyone with a bad childhood will be a peadophile obviously, people deal with things differently

Which indicates that those who had been exposed to sexual abuse (NOT something you’re born with) in turn tend to sexual abuse

Like everything else in life, it is a combination of genes and experience

I don’t think anyone knows for sure… I think some people are just born evil, and then there is genetics and your child experiences… -shrugs- I believe that for you to decide.

I dont know, but this is a good question. Like everything else, we spend all of our resources on the victim’s, and not enough time getting to the crux of the problem. The victim’s of child abuse deserve to heal, but in my mind, so do the perpatrators. The solution will not derive from the counseling of the victim, the solution will come from the study and rehabilitation of the peadophile. Until we stop condemning and start learning, we will not achieve growth. I dont believe peadophiles are bad people. I think that they probably get a chemical high from sex that temporarily relieves anxiety and gives them a feeling power and control. Or perhaps they are attracted to younger people because of a lack of emotional growth caused by an early childhood trauma. People say it is incurable. Possibly correct in the way that Acoholism is incurable, only treatable with 100% success if the individual who has the problem is willing to seek help.
