Although its probably nothing serious, a rash lasting for this long should be looked at by his pediatrician. Just a little motherly advice—when your child any type of rash, cough, whatever that lasts for more than 3 to 5 days (the smaller or younger they are).then should be seen by their Dr. you don’t have to run in every other day but some things need to be looked at and others you can use your new “mothers intuition” you have acquired? (:

Btw…u didn’t recently bring home a new puppy or kitten did u? They could actually be flea bites. They tend to like some humans better than others. (; Make your appt and good luck! [÷=

im 15. when I was a baby I was really allergic to carpet. strange but true. try putting him in his playpen but with a double sheet under it for a while if it goes away then hes probably allergic to carpet. look at all the things you use on him (baby oil, talc, creams etc) check the bottle to see if its too harsh for him, or change products. maybe hes allergic to your laundry powder? or soaps? I was also allergic to grass haha. and milk- that was a serious one.

since its been there for a month it wont be meningitis. but you should probably get him checked out at the doctor.

good luck!

keep me posted? x

Are you using a different type of soap, laundry detergent, lotion, or different type of material for his clothing…it is possible that he is having an allergic reaction…try giving him a bath in oatmeal or rubbing benadryl on his rash

Answer #4

Maybe since he is of a milk drinking stage his milk may not agree with him? What did you different that the baby now has this problem? Detergents are also a cause for reactions like my son had to lemon scented soap when I washed his bottles. Detergent for clothing can also be a culprit. It could be so many things so you need to think what changed and could this change have caused the outbreak. The doctor will be better at detecting the reason.

Answer #5

Yep, you could start with taking away EVERYTHING you put on his body (oil, powder, such as that) cause it sounds like it could be just a plain old contact dermatitis. See if it clears up, and if it does go back to what you were using and add 1 thing every 7 days. Important to ONLY add 1 thing–like start with powder and use it for 7 days–if no rash reoccurs then add oil, and so on. Once done with that then move to the body soap you use—try Ivory or Dove body wash, same thing but use the new UNSCENTED soap for awhile, see if it clears. Then move to clothes detergent—try Dreft, a little pricier but… Then formula, then baby food, then milk, then eggs, then anything you can think of that you could change. The important thing to remember again is to only introduce 1 thing at a time and to wait 7 days until you introduce something else. Good luck! [¤=
