how to convince my parents to let me make my own career choices?

Sorry but i’m a firm believer in parents just have to deal with the choices their kids make, they don’t even have to like or dislike them, they have to accept them eventually tho. You don’t HAVE to do anything with the rest of your life that you do or don’t want to do. If you don’t want to do anything n the medical field, and i wonder if your parents considered being a vet to be in the medical field, then be whatever you want. If you want to major in German in high school and college and move to Germany and teach English to German kids then just do it.

Parents want the best for their children, but even the best laid plans don’t often work out the way people hope, that doesn’t mean it’s a dissapontment tho. Do some research, look at ALL your opions and one day you’ll figure it out for sure, and you’ll walk your own path in life =)

Looks like a perfect compromise (best of both worlds) might be a Vet at Sea World…start now and make sure you’re scheduling courses that you will need to meet your goals

Follow your dreams. Do what feels right. If you heart and your mind is telling you to become a sea trainer, go for it! You only live once, so live for yourself and make the best out of it! Sure, they gave you life, but it’s up to you to decide what you want to do with it.
