My male yorkie

I just need some advice about studding my 1 year old yorkie, I just need to no if he needs papers and if he is to young? I don’t have papers as I took him off people who miss treated him. He’s a little stunner and good around kids and other animals also how much can I charge to stud him?

Without papers, your dog has little value. Those papers are a guarantee of his pedigree, and without his pedigree, nobody is going to pay you a dime for studding.

He needs to be CERF’d, OFA’d, PRA’d, Penn-Hipped, and evaluated. If you don’t know what any of those are, you really need to do a lot of research before beginning to stud.

That aside, it’s advisable that he be at least 2 years old before studding.

What is the point of “studding him out”?? No papers means who ever purchases a puppy cannot have that pup papered. anybody with a papered female isn’t going to want your male, for that reason. Also, ACK papers don’t mean a dog is good enough to breed anyway…the “idea” behind breeding is supposed to be…to better the breed.

Be grateful that you rescued a little dog from a bad situation, and who turned out to be a real gem…get him neutered, to ensure his good health for the rest of his days (dogs with testicles can get prostate cancer…dogs without them, don’t)…

PLEASE DO NOT breed dogs if you are just a regular person. There are too many dogs who need homes, and if you are not a breeder who pays attention to the health and temperament of the whole line, you are just introducing more unwanted pups into the world. BE SENSIBLE!
