(b)The British thought that they had a right to claim the land because they discovered it; . (c) The British thought that they owned the land because they had claimed it. . (d) The British thought that they had a right to retain possession of something that they had claimed simply because they wrote “Title Deeds” declaring that they owned them and put a few British signatures on them. .
